Correction and Retraction Policy

Jurnal EMA (Ekonomi Manajemen Akuntansi) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and reliability of its published articles. If errors or concerns are identified after publication, the editorial team will review the available evidence and take appropriate action based on the seriousness of the issue.

1. Corrections

A correction may be published when an article contains an error that needs to be fixed but does not affect its main findings or conclusions. Examples include incorrect author information, affiliations, figures, tables, data values, or other important details.

The correction notice will explain what has been changed and will be linked to the original article whenever possible. Minor spelling or formatting errors that do not affect the meaning of the article may be corrected without a formal notice, in accordance with the journal's editorial procedures.

2. Expressions of Concern

An expression of concern may be published when there are serious questions about the accuracy or integrity of a published article that have not yet been resolved. This may happen when an investigation is still ongoing or when there is not enough evidence to make a final decision.

The notice will explain the main concerns clearly and fairly without making conclusions that are not supported by evidence. It will be linked to the original article to inform readers while the matter is being reviewed.

3. Retractions

An article may be retracted when there is clear evidence of serious problems that affect the reliability of its findings or violate publication ethics. Reasons may include major errors, fabricated or falsified data, plagiarism, unethical research practices, or duplicate publication that misleads readers.

The Editor-in-Chief, or an independent editor when a conflict of interest exists, will make the final decision after reviewing the evidence and, where appropriate, giving the authors an opportunity to respond.

A retraction notice will clearly identify the article and explain the reasons for the retraction. The notice will be publicly available and linked to the original article whenever possible. The original article will generally remain accessible but will be clearly marked as retracted. Removal may be considered when required by law or when necessary to protect privacy or prevent serious harm.

4. Appeals and Updates

Authors may request a review of a correction, expression of concern, or retraction decision by providing a clear explanation and relevant new evidence.

The editorial team will review the request fairly and independently where possible. If new evidence changes the assessment, the journal may issue an updated notice, revise or withdraw an expression of concern, or take other appropriate action.

Where technically possible, the journal will also update the article record and relevant indexing information to ensure that readers can identify the latest status of the publication.

Jurnal EMA is committed to handling corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions fairly, transparently, and responsibly to protect the integrity of its publications and maintain readers' trust.
