Publication Ethics

EMA Journal (Economics, Management, Accounting) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal expects authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher to act responsibly, honestly, transparently, and professionally throughout the publication process.

1. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original works, accurately report their research, and properly acknowledge all sources used. Manuscripts must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication in another journal at the same time.

Authors are required to:

  • Submit original manuscripts that are free from plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct.

  • Provide accurate research data, results, and interpretations.

  • Cite and acknowledge all relevant sources and contributions appropriately.

  • Ensure that all listed authors have made significant scholarly contributions to the research and have approved the final manuscript.

  • Disclose relevant financial support, funding sources, and potential conflicts of interest.

  • Obtain appropriate ethical approval, informed consent, and research permissions when required by the nature of the research.

  • Correct significant errors discovered after publication and cooperate with the editorial team in issuing corrections or other necessary notices.

The use of fabricated, falsified, manipulated, or misleading research data is prohibited. Duplicate publication, unauthorized use of others' work, and inappropriate authorship practices are not acceptable.

2. Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for evaluating manuscripts fairly and objectively based on their academic quality, originality, relevance, and compliance with the journal's policies.

Editors must:

  • Make editorial decisions independently and without discrimination based on authors' nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, religion, or personal background.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.

  • Manage potential conflicts of interest appropriately.

  • Select qualified reviewers whose expertise is relevant to the submitted manuscript.

  • Take appropriate action when suspected ethical violations are identified.

  • Ensure that publication decisions are based on scholarly merit and the results of the review process.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations of submitted manuscripts.

Reviewers must:

  • Assess manuscripts fairly and provide evidence-based recommendations.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and review materials.

  • Identify relevant published work that has not been properly cited.

  • Inform the editor of suspected plagiarism, data manipulation, duplicate publication, or other ethical concerns.

  • Decline review assignments when they lack the necessary expertise or have a potential conflict of interest.

  • Avoid using unpublished information obtained during peer review for personal or professional advantage.

4. Plagiarism and Originality

All manuscripts must comply with accepted standards of academic originality. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism involving inappropriate reuse, duplicate publication, and unauthorized reproduction of text, data, figures, or other materials are prohibited.

The editorial team may use plagiarism-detection software or other appropriate screening methods to assess manuscript originality. Manuscripts suspected of plagiarism or other forms of misconduct may be returned, rejected, or subjected to further investigation.

5. Conflicts of Interest

Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any financial, professional, personal, or institutional relationships that could improperly influence their judgment or actions.

When a conflict of interest exists, appropriate measures must be taken to ensure an impartial editorial and review process.

6. Research Ethics

Authors conducting research involving human participants, personal data, or other ethically sensitive research subjects must comply with applicable ethical standards and legal requirements. Evidence of ethical approval and informed consent must be provided when required.

Authors must ensure that data are collected, processed, stored, and reported responsibly and in accordance with applicable regulations.

7. Corrections, Retractions, and Ethical Complaints

EMA Journal will investigate credible allegations of publication misconduct and take appropriate action in accordance with the seriousness of the issue and established publication ethics principles.

Where necessary, the journal may publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retraction notices to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record.

All ethical complaints will be assessed fairly and confidentially, with an opportunity for the parties concerned to provide relevant explanations or evidence.

8. Use of Artificial Intelligence

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical compliance of their manuscripts. Artificial intelligence tools must not be listed as authors.

Where AI tools are used to generate or substantially modify scholarly content, authors should disclose the tool and its purpose of use in accordance with the journal's applicable instructions. Authors must independently verify all AI-generated content, including references, data, and factual claims.

The use of AI tools does not remove authors' responsibility for plagiarism, fabricated information, inaccurate citations, or other forms of academic misconduct.

EMA Journal reserves the right to take appropriate action when a manuscript is found to violate these publication ethics policies.
